Senator Heidi Heitkamp Going Under the Knife

North Dakota’s Junior Senator is going under the knife.

Sen. Heidi Heitkamp is scheduled for hip replacement surgery next month.

Heitkamp’s office says she’ll undergo the procedure August 17th.

A spokesperson says Heitkamp’s right hip will be replaced.

The senator also just announced $2.5 million in federal funding is headed to Head Start programs in Grand Forks, courtesy of the Department of Health and Human Services.
