Bond Set for Man Who Stole Vehicle with Child Inside

Ali Hashi has bond set at $25,000.

Hashi was arraigned this morning in Cass County on a felony theft charge.

He is accused of taking a van from outside a market on Main Avenue on Sunday evening.

He didn’t know a three year old child was asleep in the backseat, and police say that’s enough to avoid a kidnapping charge.

Hashi has a lengthy criminal history including thefts, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and DUI.
