Minnesota State University Moorhead men’s basketball will hold a Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 12. The clinic, which is being sponsored by Sanford Health, will be headlined by Dave Joerger, the head coach of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies who also is a 1997 graduate of MSUM.
– University of North Dakota athletic department officials announced the game times for the team’s upcoming 2015 home schedule, which will get underway with the 50th Annual Potato Bowl USA game on Sept. 12. The NDSU Baseball team defeated Minnesota 5-4 in 10 innings on Tuesday, the team’s 7th straight victory. The win also snapped a 5-game losing skid the team had against Minnesota.
GRAND FORKS, N.D.– Texas-Pan American scored in the top of the 10th inning and held on for a 4-3 win Sunday afternoon at Kraft Memorial Field in Western Athletic Conference action. UND got the go-ahead to second base in the bottom of the frame but the Broncs were able to get out of the inning to salvage one game of the three-game series.
SAN DIEGO (AP) – The San Diego Chargers selected North Dakota State linebacker Kyle Emanuel on Saturday in the fifth round of the NFL draft, 153rd overall. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Emanuel had 19 1-2 sacks last year and would fit at outside in the Chargers’ 3-4 alignment.Emanuel, the Missouri Valley’s defensive player of the year, made 16 1-2 tackles for losses and 10 sacks in eight games against top 25 opponents.The Chargers sent their fourth-rounder to San Francisco as part of the deal to move up Thursday and take Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon with the 15th pick overall.
