Red Kettle Drive Surpasses Goal
Big numbers are out from the Salvation Army’s annual holiday Red Kettle Drive in the F-M community.
The organization raised almost $890,000, well over its goal by $20,000.
Up to 5,000 people volunteered to ring the bells throughout the area for donations.
The money raised will go towards much needed items and programs like its hot meals.
The Salvation Army’s Major Byron Medlock said, “Together with the community, we can meet the needs of the community and deepen the relationship only strengthens the resolve of everybody so we can get the problem done and finished.”
The money raised during the Red Kettle Campaign accounts for 2/3 of the Salvation Army’s annual budget.
