North Dakota Artist Teaches Pine Needle Basketery

West Fargo Public Library holds Pine Needle Crafting Demonstration

A North Dakota artist turns to nature to bring back a century’s old craft.

Eileen McEnroe displayed to the public her pine needle basket techniques and skills.

McEnroe has been crafting these works for over nine years.

This is her first time demonstrating in Fargo.

McEnroe hopes to bring appreciation back to pine needle basketry along with ceramics and painting.

“All that are so undervalued. People, it’s always quantity, quantity, and this is not necessity quantity, its quality that you’re working on,” says Eileen McEnroe from Bismarck.

McEnroe will be teaching a beginning pine needle basket class at West Fargo Public Library on March 14th.

You can register for the class at the West Fargo Public Library.

Eileen McEnroe’s baskets are sold at the North Dakota Historical Society.
