Local High Schoolers Help Teach Compassion

Fifth graders at a local elementary school have a better understanding on how to be compassionate.

Over 100 Kennedy Elementary fifth graders spent the day with Davies High school students learning about compassion.

Students participated in several team building exercises and small group dialogues.

Organizers hope students walk away with a better understanding of respect, bullying prevention and of course, compassion for others.

“It’s something that is so good for our kids to help develop, and help them realize the good they can do, and help them think about what they’re doing to each other, what they’re saying to each other,” said Kennedy Elementary Principal Jerry Hanson.

The fifth graders ended their day with a final commitment to be a better person.
