RedHawks Announce 2017 Schedule

The RedHawks will open the season on a ten-game swing through Texas. Opening Day will be on May 18 as Fargo-Moorhead faces the Grand Prairie AirHogs in Grand Prairie, TX. After four games with the AirHogs, the RedHawks will face the newest member of the American Association, the Cleburne RailRoaders, for three games before heading south for three games with the Laredo Lemurs.

The 2017 Home Opener is set for Monday, May 29 against the Sioux City Explorers and will feature post-game fireworks and a special 6:00 p.m. start on Memorial Day.

The 2017 RedHawks schedule features eight weekend series throughout the summer, three Business Day games and home games against eight different American Association opponents. In 2017, the RedHawks will have post-game fireworks after all eight Friday home game, plus Opening Night. The club will also host three of the popular Thursday afternoon Business Day games this summer on June 15, July 13 and August 31.

During the 100-game American Association regular season, the RedHawks will play 41 games against the North Division (20 home, 21 road), 40 games against the Central Division (24 home, 16 road) and 19 games against the South Division (6 home, 13 road).

The American Association North Division will consist of Fargo-Moorhead, St. Paul Saints, Sioux Falls Canaries, and Winnipeg Goldeyes. The Central Division will include the Gary SouthShore RailCats, Kansas City T-Bones, Lincoln Saltdogs, and Sioux City Explorers. The South Division is comprised of the Cleburne RailRoaders, Grand Prairie AirHogs, Laredo Lemurs, and Wichita Wingnuts. Cleburne is a new franchise that replaces the Joplin Blasters, while the AirHogs will return full-time to Grand Prairie this summer.

The Ottawa Champions will host the 2017 All-Star Game, which will feature the American Association facing the Can-Am League, on Tuesday, July 25. The regular season will end on Sept. 4. The RedHawks will travel to Winnipeg to wrap up the regular season with four games against the Goldeyes over Labor Day weekend.
