Director, Assistant Director of Alerus Center Fired

The director and assistant director of the Alerus Center have been fired.

Cheryl Swanson and Bob Lebarron had been on administrative leave for the past few weeks after their management skills were questioned.

An outside firm was hired to investigate claims of a hostile work environment.

On Wednesday, the Alerus Commission decided a change was needed.

That was enough for Mayor Michael Brown and he decided to let the pair go.

Swanson’s annual salary was around $165,000.

She is eligible for six months severance.
