Shakopee Teacher Dies in Officer Involved Shooting in Mankato
Police say an officer confronted Chase Tuseth and the two of them struggled before the officer fired at him
A man who died in an officer-involved shooting in Mankato over the weekend was a teacher at a school in Shakopee.
Chase Tuseth first started working at the Tokata Learning Center in Shakopee as a science and P.E. teacher in August.
Police responded to a disturbance Saturday morning at the Country Inn & Suites in Mankato.
They say Tuseth was behind the counter in the lobby and was throwing things.
The officer confronted Tuseth and there was a struggle, during which the officer fired a shot that hit and killed the man.
The case is under investigation by the Minnesota BCA.
In a statement from the Superintendent Rod Thompson of Shakopee Public Schools says “We will miss his ambition, spirit, passion and dedication to our students and families.”
