Community Celebrates Blizzard Bash at Scheels Arena

Blizzard Bash is a free event open to the public hosted by the West Fargo and Fargo Park Districts

FARGO, ND — School is out for Martin Luther King Day and kids got to spend the afternoon playing with friends and families at Scheels Arena.

Blizzard Bash is a free event open to the public hosted by the West Fargo and Fargo Park Districts.

They offered a screening of “Despicable Me 3” on the ice, an open skate, inflatables and games for kids to take part in.

Organizers say it’s important to get kids involved with community activities when they are off from school.

“As we all know, winters get long here in North Dakota and so we are always out, always looking for things to keep our kids busy and getting them out of the house,” Katie Ettish, who is with the West Fargo Park District, said. “It’s just important to be out and, moving around and interacting with people instead of being held up in your house.”

Blizzard Bash is an annual event that happens each year at Scheels Arena in Fargo.
