Social Distancing: Going For A Ride

I Need Tips To Survive A Long Bike Ride

It’s the first full week of spring, time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. I’m going full boar this weekend, trying something I’ve never done before.

I’m heading back to Lakes Country to bike the Heartland State Trail. It runs from Park Rapids all the way up to Cass Lake.
The whole thing runs 49 miles. It’s converted from an old railroad track, and the entire distance is paved. I’m hoping to bike about 35 or so of it. I got by biked tuned up. I finally bought a rack to carry it on my car, but is there anything I should plan for while I’m out there? What advice do you have for someone for a trek this long? Should I pad my butt so the seat doesn’t make it sore? What kind of tools would work if I need to make field repairs?
