LIVE: New Performing Arts/Events Center

A new bit of sparkle for the often-overlooked southern valley.

The southern valley is looking to add a little extra sparkle with a brand-new, multi-million dollar, five hundred-plus seat performing arts venue.

And they say they’re eighty percent of the way to their fundraising goal.

There’s a public fundraiser set for next month, called the “Diamond on the Prairie Performing Arts and Events Center” celebration.

Committee members say they need a venue for the arts and for events in Richland County.

It’s a critical complement to their other attractions like the Chahinkapa Zoo, the North Dakota State College of Arts and Science, and their downtown.

It’ll also generate revenue from events like weddings, private parties, conferences and receptions.

That money will go toward the school district and the community.

Committee member Nathan Berseth stopped by for a live interview on the Morning Show with Emily Welker to talk about next month’s fundraiser and when the project will break ground. []
