MOORHEAD — If you missed out on getting enough hugs and kisses this Valentine’s day, don’t worry, because Sparkler has you covered.

She’s a young Labrador mix who’s lived most of her life at 4 Luv of Dog shelter in Fargo-Moorhead, and she loves to greet people with big hugs and kisses right away.

She came to them as a small puppy with parvo, a difficult disease to treat.

But 4 luv put the time, money and effort into saving her life, and she’s now completely healthy, trained, spayed, chipped and looking for her furever home.

Growing up as a rescue dog hasn’t hurt Sparkler’s development at all.

She’s gotten that characteristic chunky, blocky face that sets Labs apart, and a shiny black coat to go with it.

She’s a very bright young pup who has great socialization and obedience skills and picks up new skills fast.

She’s good with other dogs and with kids, although because of the hugs, you’ll probably want to pair her up with bigger considerate children rather than with the smallest, wobbliest toddlers.

She also does well with dog-savvy cats.

She likes adventures and public appearances as well as cuddles, and as a year-old dog is still pretty much a puppy, has plenty of life ahead of her to learn all kinds of fun new things with her new family.
