Pet Connection: Meet Willie

Red-headed Willie's a stranger no longer. Now he's your friend.

FARGO — He’s one of the most famous names in country music, and he’s penned and sung some of the greatest songs in American musical history.

And now, Willie Nelson’s namesake, Willie the horse, is looking for his forever home.

The handsome, reddish gelding comes to Pet Connection with the help of Pride and Joy founder Robert Faulkner.

He’s a fully-grown adult with impeccable manners and a gentle disposition.

The Faulkners have been working with Willie to make sure his navicular disease is managed appropriately, and they’re happy to teach a potential adopter the techniques they’ve used to keep it under control.

In spite of that, he’s docile and eager to interact, and he’d be the perfect companion for someone who isn’t looking to do super-strenuous rides.
