LIVE: Pet Connection: Meet Bea

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Think this winter’s been tough on you? Then you can relate to little Bea the pit bull.

Volunteers with Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals say they found her and a companion dog dumped at a Valley City-area rest station in the freezing cold earlier this winter.

There’s no telling how long the two dogs were out there, but volunteer rescue worker Crystal Aakre says the pair were all too happy to hop into the volunteer’s car to get out of the cold.

Since then, the other dog’s been adopted, but Bea is still looking for her furever home.

They think she’s around two years old and in good health, with the good manners and affectionate nature that are hallmarks of the breed.

Because pit bulls have very short coats, you’ll need to make sure Bea is kept mostly indoors during our brutal winter temperatures.

And, as you can see in our video, she certainly appreciates a nice warm sweater.

Bea does not do well with small animals, so cat and rabbit families should pass.

However, she likes other dogs, adults and kids alike.

If you think you might be the right person to warm Bea’s heart forever, check out her profile, here:
