LIVE: Pet Connection: Meet Harper

FARGO — Talk about an angel of a dog.

Harper the Australian cattle dog/blue heeler is resting her wings at a metro-area boarding facility, courtesy of the folks at Kritter Krazy Reptile and Exotic Rescue in Bottineau, N.D.

They specialize in being one of the rare rescues that takes in reptiles, birds, pocket pets and other exotics, but their mission is to leave no animal in need behind.

That’s how Harper, who’s just about a year old, found her way to Kritter Krazy.

Whether you believe in angels or not, Harper is extraordinarily well behaved, not just for being so young, but also for a member of her breed.

Blue heelers are a herding dog described as being a high-energy, high-intelligence breed that gives even the most seasoned dog owners a lot to handle.

They can be loud, assertive, and a bit bossy with their families.

Instead, Harper is quiet, gentle, attentive and a great listener and fast learner.

She enjoys puzzle toys, walks and other outings, and while she’s a bit shy with strangers at first, she warms up soon and has plenty of affection to give.

Kritter Krazy board member Cindy Holtan brought Harper to the Morning Show to introduce us to this sweet and well-socialized young lady and to help her find her furever home.
