Weather delays Island Park Pool grand opening

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The big day will have to wait for Fargo Parks, after this morning’s storm delayed their grand opening of the new Island Park Pool.

The pool is now set to open tomorrow at 11:30 AM, and Fargo Parks is still hoping for a great turnout to enjoy the new amenities the pool has to offer.

From the lap pool, to the lazy river, the project has been a huge transformation for the historic downtown pool, and they’re excited to get people in the door to check it out, especially the new slides.

“We had to do some testing, just to make sure we had it at the right speed. So, it launches you, if you go down it and you’re a good size person, it can launch you about halfway across the diving well.”

The pools also feature new filtration systems capable of filtering out particles 1/1000th the size of sand. You can find more information on the new ribbon cutting time with this story on our morning show page.
