LIVE: Pet Connection: Meet Nelson

Nelson

FARGO — There’s a lot to love this Pet Connection Thursday with huge, handsome Nelson from Homeward Animal Shelter.

And believe it or not, this sweet soul recently had his heart broken, although it’s hard to tell from how nice he was to everyone on the Morning Show.

Nelson recently lost his dad, who was elderly and passed away.

Then his mom had to go into a retirement facility and couldn’t care for him and take her big boy with her.

So she did the right thing by him and surrendered him to Homeward.

So it’s been a lot of upheaval for him lately, and Homeward’s Heather Klefstad, on the drive in to the studio, said he was very upset in the car, crying and likely thinking he was about to be abandoned yet again.

His real personality is very calm and sweet, and loves to give head rubs.

He’s 8 years old, which makes him a senior, but since cats can live for many years beyond that, you’d have lots of time left with him.

Nelson, alas, is not a dog person, but he loves other cats, kids, and adults.

If you have what it takes to heal his broken heart and give him a new furever home, check out his profile, here:
