Pet Connection: Meet Buttercup

FARGO — His name is Buttercup, and yes, he’s a boy, and he’s not named after the flower.

Instead, Buttercup, a four- or -five-month-old kitten, was first discovered all alone, only five weeks old, hiding in someone’s buttercup squash patch in Christine, N.D.

They brought the baby in to Kritter Krazy Reptile and Exotic Rescue for care, and he’s been in a foster home ever since.

He lives with two somewhat older cats, and with his high energy level, his foster mom says, he can be “a lot” for them.

Kittens separated from their mothers and littermates very early often don’t have time to learn appropriate cat manners, so the older kitties are teaching him how to play gently so he’ll make a better feline companion in his furever home.

He’s very cuddly and affectionate, but he does have a high drive to play, so a house with another younger cat would be ideal for him.

He’s litter-trained, vaccinated, neutered, and is even learning how to walk on a leash, which is something not every cat will cooperate with.

Best of all, he’s healthy and good-natured, so if seeing Buttercup in action has made him really grow on you, check out his adoption information here:
