Pet Connection: Meet the Bucket Kittens
FARGO — Just in time for Halloween season, these three little kittens are here to introduce themselves with a very scary backstory.
They were discovered in a bucket, an entire litter, near death, and rushed in for care to Cat’s Cradle.
They needed to be tube-fed, they were so small, and all but these three are still in the hospital.
They are some of the most unusual-looking cats we’ve ever had on Pet Connection, with peculiar-looking coat colors that look black on top, but are whitish-gray closer to the skin.
The texture is also very unusual — sort of a shaggy, werewolfy quality, with features that look a little wild, too, and big paws with surprisingly large claws for their size.
However, their personalities are anything but wild.
In fact, they’re unusually sweet, docile and affectionate, especially given their rough start in life.
Some of them even like to sit on your shoulder, sort of like a parrot.
At about eight weeks old, they should be ready to adopt out within the next month.
They’re being fostered through Natural Pet Center, according to the Center’s Michelle Smith, which is also holding its 20th anniversary celebration this weekend.
