Pet Connection: Meet Bunny

CASSELTON — Bunny is a girl who you might just want to send out on the basketball court, because for a little girl she’s got an impressive vertical leap.

She was found locked with another dog in an abandoned trailer, barricaded in so no one could get to them, severely undernourished, and taken in to the rescue Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals to be cared for by her foster mom, Crystal Aakre.

She’s gained a considerable amount of weight since then, and although she could use a few more pounds, she’s got a lot more muscle and a lot of energy.

She’s also got an incredible appetite, both for treats and for affection.

And then there’s that huge leap, which, if you don’t want a jumper, you will have to do some work to retrain her on.

The good thing is, dogs who are food-motivated are usually very easy to train — like Bunny, they’ll do what they need to do to get the snack.

She’s only about a year old, and she looks to be some sort of German Shepherd/terrier cross.

She’s selective about other dogs and does not do well with cats.

If Bunny might be the girl who leaps into your heart, check out her profile, here:
