“Stuff the Bus” Starts
FARGO — It’s been on a roll helping families fleeing domestic violence right here in our metro area for the past 16 years.
But this year, the “Stuff the Bus” campaign is stepping on the gas, because the need is greater.
KFGO and its sister stations put on the event, along with MATBUS and the Red River Children’s Advocacy Clinic.
It’s a way to donate holiday gifts to the little children, teens, and women who need to stay at the emergency shelter over the holiday season.
Historically, the holidays see a rise in women and kids leaving the domestic violence in their homes to seek shelter.
And the YWCA’s Jill DVries says they’re already near capacity and expect to hit in in the coming days.
She joined the Morning Show to talk about how funding changes at the federal level are expected to put a strain on their programming soon and what a difference your donation can make to the families they serve.
