State Legislators, Local Leaders Call for Bonding Bill to be Passed in 2026
Numerous Minnesota mayors cited desperately important infrastructure projects as the primary reason they needed this legislation to pass.

DILWORTH, MN (KVRR) – Minnesota state Senator Rob Kupec gathered local mayors and other officials for a news conference Sunday with the goal of gathering support for a bonding bill.
The conference was held at the Dilworth Fire House as an example of what bonding bills can accomplish, as about half of the fire house’s $9 million price tag was paid for by a bonding bill.
Kupec said that numerous towns and counties in Minnesota desperately need this money to tend to public works projects.
He warned that if a bill was not passed, the price tag for those projects was only going to increase.
“That’s why this is important, to have things like this today,” he said.
“I think it’s important for all of those communities across Minnesota – because it doesn’t matter whether you’re Republican or Democrat, people need this money in their communities to help keep that infrastructure up.”
Kupec added that he believes the Senate would pass any bill with bipartisan support, but the House is where things could get complicated.
He urged constituents to contact their representatives to ask them to get this done.
