Foam party kicks off summer reading challenge at Fargo Public Library

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Summer has officially kicked off at Fargo Public Library as this year’s summer reading challenge begins.
The theme is “Unearth a Story.”
It’s a nationwide challenge that brings readers together.
Events at the library will include story times, dinosaur trivia, puzzles, singers, and more.
To kick off the fun, families were invited to dino-sized digging machines and a fantastic foam party.
“You get to read whatever you want. Graphic novels, you can listen, you can listen to audiobooks, you can listen to stories … And that reading over the summer, even though they’re reading what they want, they’re still developing and keeping those reading skills up. And developing those muscles that really take a real workout during the fall,” said Amber Emery, Children’s Services Manager.
The summer reading challenge is open to all ages and runs through August 15.
