West Fargo Plans To Keep Up With Growth
Talk Of A Third High School
The West Fargo School District is trying to act quickly to keep up with a continuing problem, exploding enrollment. The superintendent and board members met Wednesday night to talk about options to deal with overcrowding.
The school district is expected to grow 60 percent in the next ten years. Voters approved an $82 million building referendum just four years ago.
The board says that this latest expansion need is different from the last because of the tight deadline. There is even talk of a third high school.
“The variables we’re considering are complex and should/could take more time to analyze and weigh. The flip of that is, we don’t have that much time because we’re going to get behind the curve on our growth,” says West Fargo Superintendent David Flowers.
Administrators are working on a long range facilities plan and may have a referendum in front of voters this fall.
