Home Owner Arrested For Arson

Arrest Made In Sabin House Fire

A man is arrested for second degree arson after a fire at his house in Sabin, the day before his birthday.

Authorities responded to the fire on February 6th at the residence of 51-year-old Jon Lague. An investigation led authorities to believe that Lague was responsible for setting the fire.

The house was up for sale and under renovation at the time. Moorhead Police say that this is an unusual case.

“I don’t think it happens that often. Arsons are extremely tough to prove and it takes a lot of hard work to get to that end result and I’m pretty proud of the work the investigator did,” said Lieutenant Stephen Landsem of Moorhead Police.

Lague is in the Clay County Jail awaiting formal charges. Police are unable to release any possible motives. The investigation is ongoing.
