Midstokke Sentenced to Prision for 20 Years
A North Dakotan woman that murdered her husband is heading to prison.
Sherry Midstokke will now be behind bars for 20 years after suffocating her husband Lyle with a plastic bag last February.
In the sentencing the judge mentioned that greed was the motive to this premeditated murder.
Midstokke did say if she could take it back she would have never hurt her husband of over forty years.
Her family agreed on the time she will have to serve and the attorneys on the case spoke after the sentencing.
Midstokke’s attorney Blake Hankey said, “She didn’t come across or strike me as someone with those violent tendencies of someone who is capable of this kind of an act, and that was surprising throughout the whole case and at least the person that i got to know in dealing with her is someone who is capable of this but of course it happened and she admitted to it.”
The prosecutor Charles Stock said, “Well that’s the scary part about it if you at Mrs. Midstokke’s criminal history you would never think she could do something like this but yet here it is and she did so who knows what other potential things she’s capable of.”
And just this past month Midstokke’s home in Finley was destroyed by a fire, her son was able to escape the house without serious injuries.
