Zamboni Driver Arrested

A zamboni driver was arrested on suspected DUI.

A zamboni driver has been fired after being arrested for allegedly driving drunk at a Fargo high school hockey game.

Steve Anderson was arrested by Fargo Police on suspected DUI around 8:15 p.m. Friday night at South Arena.

It happened during the girl’s hockey game between Davies High and Williston when people in the crowd noticed erratic driving.

No one was hurt.

Administrators say although this is an isolated incident, they are taking the situation seriously.

“We have an excellent track record here and a good safety rating and extensive safety program. It’s probably, it’s definitely the most important thing we do and this happens it’s just very very unfortunate. And it’s you know it hurts us not only professionally, but personally as well that this happened,” said Clay Whittlesey, Fargo Park District Recreation Director.

The incident will be further addressed on Monday.

This is Anderson’s second DUI arrest in the past month.
