Lake Region State College athletic director placed on leave

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) – Lake Region State College Athletic Director Danny Mertens who also serves as the head women’s basketball coach at the school has been put on administrative leave.

According to a statement issued by the school, Mertens was put on leave with pay this past Friday by school President Dr. Doug Darling.

The statement says Mertens was put on leave pending a review of information brought to the college’s attention.

The college has not provided any additional details of what prompted the review.
