House Lost and Two Dogs Killed in Fire in Otter Tail County, GoFundMe Started

OTTER TAIL CO., Minn. (KVRR) — A house is a total loss and two dogs are dead after a fire in Otter Tail County Saturday night.

The sheriff’s office says fire crews were called to the house in rural Star Lake Township around 7:30.

The homeowners had returned to find smoke and an orange glow coming from the house.

Dent Fire Department responded and put the fire out.

There were no injuries, but two dogs died in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.

An account started on GoFundMe says “my sister Katie and her husband Jeremy Lehman along with 9 year old Matehs lost their home in a fire along with 2 beloved dogs. Help them get back on their feet.”

It was started by Katie’s sister, Angela Fowler.

The fundraiser has a goal of $5,000 and as of Sunday afternoon had already raised over $2,300.
