LIVE: Winter Track Meet With HOPE Inc.
Warm up the heart -- both literally and figuratively -- with one of the region's best-loved nonprofits.
FARGO — Does the thought of going out in the cold this weekend get your heart racing — and not in a fun way?
Here’s a way you can get out of the house and still stay warm, with one of the region’s most heart-warming nonprofits.
HOPE Inc. is getting ready for their winter indoor track meet this weekend.
It’s got mobility-challenged athletes of all ages and abilities taking to the track to compete.
Some will roll in racing wheelchairs.
Others will use walkers.
Some others have walking mobility.
Over the last few months, HOPE’s been expanding its message well beyond the metro.
It’s been spreading its mission about the joys and rewards of adaptive athletics to students at rural schools throughout the greater region.
They’ve not only managed to get kids to understand the positives about inclusivity, but also picked up quite a few new members along the way.
HOPE Inc.’s Bill Grommesh joined us for a live chat in studio to talk about what an adaptive track meet looks like and how you can get involved.
