North Dakota Republican Rick Becker running for U.S. House

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — Republican Rep. Kelly Armstrong is getting a primary challenger for his U.S. House seat: former state lawmaker Rick Becker.
Becker last ran as an independent for U.S. Senate in 2022 and got just 18 percent of the vote against Republican Sen. John Hoeven and Democrat Katrina Christiansen.
She is running again this year against Sen. Kevin Cramer.
Becker, a Republican and plastic surgeon in Bismarck, believes people are looking for someone to be bold and to take on what he calls the progressive, woke agenda.
He also is leading a proposed 2024 ballot initiative to eliminate local property taxes.
Democrat Trygve Hammer is also in the race.
