Hotdish competition hosted in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — People could sample some of the area’s best hotdish during a competition in Moorhead. Moorhead American legion hosting this hotdish competition and silent auction to benefit the North Dakota/Minnesota Veterans Honor Flight.

Twelve participants submitted hotdishes to be judged on taste, look, smell, and texture.

This competition has been going on for 4 years and the competitors love taking part in the event. Crystal Krabbenhoft Competitor in Hotdish Competition, said, “It’s a lot of fun.”

Krabbenhoft also said, “We come to this club quite often and so it’s kind of a family and so when it comes to doing something like the soup cookoff, the chili cook off, the hot dish competition, it’s just a fun group of people and everybody gets kind of excited about it.” 

Pam Gruchalla’s Chicken Potato Hotdish came in third.

Angie Skarpool with a Cheesesteak Casserole placed second, and Karlene Grund won 1st place and a bottle of wine with her Chicken Cordon Bleu Hotdish.
