LIVE: Taking Your Best Shot (at Staying Healthy)
FARGO — The start of flu season is lurking right around the corner and Sanford Health wants to be able to fight back.
Sandford’s health care experts joined the Morning Show live in studio for an on-air shot in the arm — and for what they say is your best shot at staying healthy this fall and winter.
Their first flu vaccine event of the season is this Saturday the 28th at the Southpointe clinic.
There can be a thousand people who come to each one of their flu vaccine events.
In spite of those crowds, Sanford’s health care providers say not enough of us are actually getting the vaccine.
And the more exposed we are, the more likely they’ll be swamped with sick people during flu season.
Sanford Health Nursing Manager Kelsey Bartness talked with Emily about why you can still sometimes get the flu even if you get the shot, why you should get the vaccine any way, and how long it’ll be before the data comes in showing us which flu strain will be the dominant one this year.
