UPDATE: Gregory LaCroix In Custody For Overnight Shooting in Downtown Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR-8PM UPDATE) — The man wanted for an overnight shooting in downtown Fargo is now in custody.

Police arrested 37-year-old Gregory LaCroix around 5 p.m. downtown without incident.

He is being held for attempted murder and fleeing.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Police in Fargo are searching for Gregory LaCroix who has been identified as a suspect in the shooting of a man in downtown Fargo overnight.

They say 37-year-old LaCroix of Fargo shot the adult male once at Broadway and 3rd Avenue North around 2:30 a.m. and then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Sanford Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.

An eyewitness says he saw a white van across the street with someone in the passenger seat talking before he heard a gunshot and the van drove off.

The witness ran over, took off his sweater, and used it to cover the victim’s chest wound before asking another person to call 911.

Investigators believe the victim and suspect know each other.

If you spot LaCroix, do not approach him and call 911 to report the location, clothing and other details so officers can take him into custody.
