Rural Warroad Man Pleads Guilty to Shooting his Wife in 2023

ROSEAU CO., Minn. (KVVR) — A rural Warroad, Minnesota man pleads guilty to the shooting death of his wife in August 2023.
65-year-old David Corneliusen was offered a Norgaard plea, not remembering the crime but admitting to his role in it.
A trial set to start next week has been canceled.
He was charged with second degree murder.
During the investigation, Corneliusen said he shot his wife, Mary, with a pistol after they had a verbal argument.
He’ll be sentenced on December 16.
He faces up to 40 years in prison.
