GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A Grand Forks man faces charges after a short police pursuit on I-29.

Police say 53-year-old Marlin Johnson’s vehicle was stopped and partially blocking the lane on the I-29 southbound on-ramp at Demers Avenue and he was asleep in the driver’s seat around 6 p.m.

Officers say Johnson appeared to be under the influence as they woke him up and he drove off.

They pursued him to the 32nd Avenue South exit where Johnson crossed the lanes and came to a stop along the I-29 southbound on-ramp.

He was then taken into custody on charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, DUI, DUI refusal and driving under suspension.
