FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A local Fargo company has been awarded another contract by the U.S. Navy to build battery systems for its UAS fleet.

Packet Digital had an initial contract with the Navy in December of 2022 worth $8.5 million.

The company designed and developed lithium-ion smart battery packs as part of its previous contract.

With this new contract, it will increase the scale of its manufacturing and assembly facility in Fargo.

Packet Digital will also be manufacturing sophisticated charging systems, storage containers, and storage racks to house these products safely and securely aboard Navy ships.
