U.S. Attorney for North Dakota Mac Schneider Resigns

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — U.S. Attorney for North Dakota Mac Schneider has announced his resignation.
In a social media post, Schneider wrote: “I submitted my resignation as U.S. Att’y this morning. Grateful to the point of near disbelief to do such meaningful work with such incredible people. I’ll be cheering on my successors and former colleagues in the months and years to come. Thanks for the chance!”
Schneider, a Democrat, has served in the position since being appointed by President Biden in 2022.
Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer are recommending that President Donald Trump nominate Nicholas Chase to serve as U.S. Attorney for North Dakota.
Chase is a judge for North Dakota’s East Central Judicial District.
Before that, he served for 20 years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including as acting U.S. Attorney.
