MOORHEAD (KVRR-KFGO) – Fire damaged a garage at 203 12th Street North in Moorhead.  The fire was reported at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday, located across the parking lot from the fire station.

Fire Department Battalion Chief Matt Brand said when they arrived, smoke was showing from the garage and walk-in doors.

He says the homeowner and a Clay County deputy had attempted to extinguish it. However, firefighters found there was still an “active” fire in the garage trusses, and they worked for some time to ensure the fire was out.

The fire did not spread to the house. There was also some damage to a vehicle.

The cause has not been determined.

The crews were on the scene for nearly two-and-a-half hours.
