LIVE: Swing Into Spring with Sanford’s Fight Against Cancer

2023 Roger Maris Swing Training Screens Vertical 1024x576

FARGO (KVRR) – It’s time to bring your backswing and tee up for a great cause.

The third annual Swing Training event is back in the metro Wednesday morning.

It’s all to kick off Roger Maris All-Star Week  this summer to help Sanford raise funds for cancer treatment and research.

Roger Maris Jr. is the son of Fargo native and baseball great Roger Maris and the event’s spokesperson.

He’s back in the metro to get things started Wednesday and to talk about this year’s new additions All-Star Week, as well as this year’s 41st annual Roger Maris Celebrity Golf Tournament.

He says Sanford’s getting national recognition for its cancer treatment techniques, including the region’s first blood and bone marrow transplant program.

He joined the Morning Show to talk about what it’s like dealing with a cancer diagnosis in the family, and what it means to have these treatments close by for families in the region.
