MPCA fines Anheuser-Busch for violations at now closed malting plant in Moorhead

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has fined Anheuser-Busch resources in Moorhead $323,850 for failing to conduct performance tests and exceeding dust emissions at the now closed barley malting plant along Interstate 94.
The MPCA says Busch violated rules and regulations several times. The violations were discovered during a routine, unannounced inspection.
Anheuser-Busch opened the plant more than 40 years ago. The barley was turned into malt for the beer company’s brewing operations. Processing has been shifted to a processing plant in Shakopee, Minnesota.
Anheuser-Busch announced the closing of the Moorhead plant last November.
