Ghoul Morning: Starting Spooky Season

FARGO — Do you think decorating your house now for Halloween is entirely too early?

You may want to think again, because the contest to win the title of best home haunt in the Farg-Moorhead area is back this year.

The competition, called “Best Decorated House of the FM Area” launches today Tuesday, September 16th, and submissions have to be sent in by mid-October to qualify.

This year also makes homes in Harwood and Horace eligible.

All the houses will be featured on an interactive online map for trick or treaters.

Winner gets a trophy and bragging rights.

The contest founder, Abby Haake, isn’t competing, but Haake says she’s already started decorating her house, as an example.

She’s also launching the first-ever “Haunted Harvest Halloween Market” with vendors, costume contest, craft beer, food trucks, and an all-ages drag show.

Haake joined the Morning Show to talk about why spooky season starts early for Halloween enthusiasts, and where you can go to learn all the best tips, tricks, and techniques for decorating your own home haunt.
