Fargo third graders walked back in time on the streets of Downtown Fargo

Fargo third graders participate in history walk

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo third graders took a trip into the history of downtown Fargo.

This week, over 300 students across the Fargo Public Schools hit the pavement to learn about the history of many iconic buildings throughout downtown.

Some of the buildings include the Great Northern Bicycle Company, the Black Building, Hotel Donaldson, and others.

Fargo Theatre also played a part in bringing students into the growth of both Fargo and the theatre.

“Interacting with the third graders is an absolute highlight of my year. I love hearing their questions, I love hearing them laugh at the silent comedy that we play for them, and seeing it connect for them. Even though it’s over a hundred years old, it’s just something we look forward to each and every year,” said Emily Beck, Executive Director at Fargo Theatre.

The walking tour is a part of the third-grade social studies curriculum and has been led for over a decade.

The next tour will be held in May.
