FARGO — Several Fargo city snow plows have been adorned with new names.

The winning names are Betty Whiteout, BoomChickaPlowPlow, Buzz Iceclear, Plowabunga, Wheeler Snow Peeler, and Teddy Snowsevelt.

The names were picked from over 600 possible choices.

The Public Works Department narrowed the list down to just 10 finalists with the help of Mayor Tim Mahoney and Deputy Mayor Denise Kolpack.

An online poll was then conducted in order to pick the six winners.

More than 1,100 residents voted in the poll.

“The big thing is get our neighborhoods our kids, our customers out there that we’re serving engaged so it’s kind of exciting. You know, whoever won the competition for one of our naming, and hopefully they’ll be able to see that plow in their neighborhood,” said Fargo Public Works Director Ben Dow.

Individuals who submitted the winning names have been notified and will recieve Fargo gear as well as be featured in a video that will be shared on the city’s social media sites.
