Man shot while hunting in Marshall County, MN

MARSHALL CO., Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – A 25-year-old man was shot during Minnesota’s deer gun opener this weekend.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a man had been shot in the upper thigh while hunting by Nelson Slough on Saturday.
Two brothers say they took a break from hunting and laid the guns and hunting gear in the backseat of the vehicle. They were removing the gear to go hunting again when the firearm went off.
When the men called 911, they say the 25-year-old was alert, conscious and the bleeding was under control.
The Minnesota DNR, Karlstad Ambulance and Newfolden Rescue responded. The man was brought to a Thief River Falls hospital by ambulance and is expected to be okay.
