Fargo Police Department Seeks Community Engagement, Feedback
The department plans to meet with residents of every beat in the city.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Fargo Police Department is attempting to engage more directly with the people they protect.
To that end, they held a community meeting at the Fargo Parks Sports Center the evening of November 19.
The city is broken up into 5 beats, and this meeting concerned beat 4, which covers the area south of I-94 and east of I-29.
Officers began with a presentation involving crime statistics, then opened the floor for questions and comments.
They say the firsthand accounts they get from meetings like this are extremely helpful.
“We’re trying to go out and meet with the public in the parts of town they live in to talk about those areas specifically and get their take on what they see, what questions they have for their neighborhood,” said Captain Matt Christensen. “We’re really looking for that dialogue with them of things they see, things we can help with, issues they might see that maybe we’re not aware of.”
In addition to Captain Christensen, Chief David Zibolski and Captain Troy Hannig were also in attendance.
