Moorhead Mayor considers run for Minnesota House seat

MOORHEAD (KVRR-KFGO) – The mayor of Moorhead is considering a run for an open seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2026.

The Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board website shows that Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson filed on Monday, Nov. 17 to register her campaign committee.

The filing indicates Carlson plans to run as a democrat for the Minnesota House District 4A seat that’s currently held by Representative Heather Keeler.

Keeler announced that she’s running for congress to challenge incumbent Republican Representative Michelle Fischbach for the seat in Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District.
