Pet Connection: Meet the Ten Tiny Puppies

CASSELTON, N.D. — It’s hard to believe that this much in-studio mayhem started with a lone little dog, abandoned by herself on the side of the road in a single pet carrier.

But that’s what happened when animal lovers discovered Charlotte the beagle, picked her up, and brought her in to the care of Crystal Aakre at Kieffer Kennels.

Upon further examination, Charlotte wasn’t quite as tiny as her small beagle frame would ordinarily indicate.

Instead, she was pregnant — very pregnant.

And six weeks ago, Aakre found out just how pregnant, when Charlotte gave birth to a litter of ten healthy black beagledoo puppies.

They’re already crate-trained and they are just now starting to eat solid food, so it’ll be a couple of weeks before they’re ready to leave their mom and siblings.

However, they’re very affectionate and playful, and if they take after their mother, they’re likely to get along well with all sorts of people, cats, and other dogs.
