Man and child found dead of apparent gunshot wounds northeast of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

BECKER CO., Minn. (KVRR) — Becker County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting deaths of two people in Holmesville Township, northeast of Detroit Lakes.

The brother of a man who had not reported for work went to check on him in the noon hour and found his brother dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

When deputies arrived on scene, they also found a child was dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Names are being withheld while family is notified.

The sheriff’s office says the scene appears to be isolated and there is no known threat to the public.

Minnesota BCA is assisting with the investigation.
